Running containers in the AWS Cloud allows you to build robust, scalable applications and services. Join us for a deep dive into how to build with containers using Kubernetes, Amazon Elastic Container Service, and AWS Fargate.
Â
Throughout this day long workshop, our container experts will host live demonstrations and hands-on labs covering what you need to know to get started and build scalable architectures using containers in the cloud.

Go from 0 to fully deployed using Amazon EKS. You'll learn how to define and launch a Kubernetes control plane using Amazon EKS, including setting up kubectl, networking, and security access controls. Next, you'll see how to launch worker nodes using Amazon EC2 and check them into your EKS cluster. We'll finish up by running a sample application on our new, fully-managed Kubernetes cluster.
Heptio will provide background about the Kubernetes project, current state, and expectations for the future alongside AWS. Primary topics for the discussion include OSS projects that assist in operating a cluster, and the commercial products on the market today. Also featured will be success stories from joint AWS and Heptio customers.
AWS Fargate lets you run containers on AWS without needing to provision or manage any servers. In this session, you'll get a technical foundation for using AWS Fargate with your existing containerized services. We will cover best practices for building images, configuring task definitions, task networking, secrets management, and monitoring.
